Note:

I apologize for any poor English or writing. This comes directly from my prayer journal, and at 5am I am not always the best writer, nor do I catch all my mistakes. However, I think Mrs. Hausner, my highschool English teacher, would be glad that I am at least still writing.

God's Plans?

I was reading Isaiah 30:1 this morning.  It says, "“Woe to the obstinate children,” declares the LORD, to those who carry out plans that are not mine, forming an alliance, but not by my Spirit, heaping sin upon sin;"

As I read that verse I thought about my own life, and how often I am carrying out plans that I never even consulted the Lord about, nor received from the Lord.  He calls those who act this way obstinate children, I guess because they want it their way, and are unwilling to listen to God.  Some might call this the school of hard knocks, and defeat.  Further in the verse, its clear that the people are running to Egypt for safety, rather than turning to God who demonstrated over and over His ability to save them.  How often do we look to something or someone, other than God, for help?

Lord help me to always listen to You, to wait for You to divulge Your plans, to not set my mind and heart on my way!  Help me to wait on You!
